According to the World Health Organisation, stress is a 21st-century epidemic. Obstructing clear thinking and decision making, stress presents a challenge not only to our mental health but also to our physical health. But how did it come to this? Didn’t the “stress response” evolve to keep us safe?

Yogis have been using the breath to manage stress for thousands of years. Cutting-edge neurobiology shows that they were right.

During this practical workshop, delegates will explore how we have evolved a fail-safe system to calm the stress response where it isn’t helpful. We execute this most efficacious breath skill and learn why controlling the ancient stress response is essential to managing our complex, modern-day challenges.
