Many people have experienced how Mental Health and Safety training has enhanced and improved their understanding of mental health. Here is a selection of what some of our delegates have said.

I thought the Mental Health and Safety Training Workshop with Steve Peck was absolutely brilliant and, without a shadow of a doubt, the best virtual seminar I have attended yet! I thought that the visuals that Steve supplied were fantastic – I loved the flower analogy, and especially the brain analogies (the amygdala as the security officer, the ‘memory maker’ as the librarian, etc). I found it particularly useful to simply learn facts and statistics (albeit, quite harrowing ones), but he gave such clear breakdowns of all the factual info that he provided. His descriptions and breakdowns of the emotional needs was so easy to digest…

The Q&A-ing throughout was a really nice way to continue stimulating engagement. Opportunities to engage with other group members on the chat was SUPER HELPFUL – great to have a sense of what other group members were thinking.

The call to action and time to imagine the changes being implemented was really powerful. I have already tidied some clutter. Although formal in nature, it feels personal and informal. I think the Zoom setting actually enhances the experience compared to a real-life group setting... The online environment adds a sense of safety. Having the option to mute and turn off the video is reassuring, especially for introverts! Real-life training can seem overwhelming for some. I really like all the specific practice points.

I found the training so accessible and reassuring. I would love the opportunity to partake in further training along these lines.

I really liked the explanation of how the brain worked - it was the right level of technicality, and made woolly concepts feel tangible and relatable. A lot of the ‘soft skills’ webinars I’ve seen stay too abstract and hypothetical, but yours felt more real and personal, which really helps the information sink in.

… to make sense of your personal journey to date, you need a mentor, a third eye, a caring eye! Be coachable. What is mental health? Choose someone, a service provider you trust, who has empathy with your world, and your journey can begin. Steve and MHS Training could be your step 1 journey step!
— Nick, author and elite sports sleep coach

I thought Steve was an excellent trainer, passionate about his subject and keen for us to understand…. The course book online was helpful and I liked the plant analogy. I discussed the whole course with my partner and son afterwards, and we all found it helpful for a discussion about our mental health.
— Catherine, founder, Bond-Solon Training

It was a great feeling to get the team together and engaged around this vital issue. I found it personally very helpful. But it was great to be this open as a team with each other – especially at a time when we are so isolated from each other.
